This Fan Palm was first sealed, then the outside dyed green. This was then spray lacquered, the inside is painted with a matt black acrylic.

This Fan Palm vase was turned when fully dry, the palm genus grain structure is so very different to that seen on wood. Being very fibrous, does not turn quite as nicely.
