This box is from locally grown European Walnut, and West Coast Rimu for the lid. The bevelled knob is morticed in place, and from a contrasting species Australian Jarrah. Bottom is lined with a blue colored velvet type material.
Finish is Danish oil and then waxed.

Two lovely jewelry box timbers, showing slightly paler colors in the two species. Has a black velvet type material on the bottom.
This jewelry box has some beautiful fiddleback figure in the lid panel and contrasts so well with the dark brown of the box itself. The lift out internal tray is also N.Z. Silver Beech tray and box bottoms are lined with velvet like material. Ogee bracket feet really give this box a classic look. Mitre keys are USA Maple and Black Walnut. The ripple figure in this box is absolutely stunning and a very lucky find. Two internal lift out trays are from USA Black Walnut, with tray and box bottoms lined with a black velvet like material. Mitre keys are Black walnut and Maple. The ogee bracket feet give this box a lift, both literally and figuratively. Jewelery Box Papua New Guinea Rosewood NZ Red Beech 355mm x 255mm x95mm
This box is from Papua New Guinea Rosewood, with the floating panel in the lid from fiddleback N.Z. Red Beech. The Rosewood was from a packing crate that I recycled, a very hard dense timber. The two internal lift out trays are from quarter sawn N.Z. Rewarewa, a method of milling to really emphasize the prominent medullary ray figure you see in this species. Tray and box bottoms lined with a velvet like material. Miter keys are USA Black Walnut and Maple. SOLD

This oak box has seen Australian Jarrah used on all the mitre keys, this red color contrasts so well with the paler color of the oak. The two internal trays are also Jarrah with USA Maple used in the mitre keys. Tray and box bottoms are lined with a black velvet like material. This Mahogany box has such beautiful figure, with the darker tones of the USA Black Walnut in the lid contrasting so well with the Mahogany The single lift out internal tray is from recycled N.Z. Kauri, with the mitre keys in both box and tray Black Walnut. Box and tray bottoms are lined with a black velvet like material, but does not have the Brusso lid stay. SOLD
