N. Z. Silver Beech Wall Hanging with Lichtenberg Fractal Patterns

Have found that our native Beech species burn so well this piece being made up of two ex 150 x 25 sawn boards machined and then glued together. Finish and mounting details the same as the others. Beech is such a lovely timber to work with and using it for this form of art work is no exception.

English Yew is one of my favourite timbers, have milled this 140 year
old tree back in 2001.
This species has so much history about it, going back many centuries,
and although a conifer, is very slow growing and can have the most
gorgeous grain patterns and colours, and quite dense.
It like a number of other species i have worked with will darken in colour
over time, this is due to oxidation.
The underside is textured from just below the rim, to just above the small foot.

Finish is Danish Oil
